 [Istanbul/Turkey Celebration] - [Niederrhein/Germany Celebration] - [Top of the Page] Istanbul/Turkey Celebration Date: 27.07.2002/ Saturday/ Start: 18:30 Place: The celebration will take place in Bogazici University Alumni Society (the bride’s university) which is located within the university campus (see map). Easiest way to get there is to take a taxi there. The place is open air, in case of rainy weather (which we don’t hope) we will celebrate at the same place inside. Reception: The wedding starts at 18:30 with a cocktail reception. The guests start coming in and enjoy cold drinks. You start taking your seats in your pre-organized tables with 10 people. Civil ceremony: At 19:30 the civil ceremony takes place. The civil ceremony will be in Turkish with translation into German or English. After the civil ceremony we fascinate you with our wedding dance followed by our greeting speech. Food & Drinks: Around 20:00 the buffet is opened. The buffet will offer cold and warm delicious mainly Turkish dishes and cool desserts. There will be food for vegetarians, too. All kind of local Turkish drinks (Raki, wine, gin, soda, soft drinks etc) will be at your disposal. Party: The music will play throughout the whole night. So you can dance whenever you feel like and then continue your meal. And of course you can change and exchange your place and meet everyone during the party. Music: We mainly play international and Turkish pop music, as well as Latin music and classical dance music (DJ). At 00:00 unfortunately we have to turn the music down due to Turkish regulations. However, we will continue to play the music with low volume and continue having a nice time together chatting, enjoying our drinks. Surprises: The whole night will also offer you some surprises!!! Dress Code: The preferred dress code is formal. Women should feel free to wear all kind of dresses (short, long, sexy!, conservative…). Men can wear light and dark suites and are more than welcome to take off their jackets when they feel like to. Keep in mind it will be quite hot in July in Istanbul! Presents: If you would like to give us a present in Turkey, we recommend the traditional Turkish way: In all classic Turkish weddings, the presents are given, when bride and groom personally welcome the guests. It is tradition to give as a present gold coins, golden rings, other golden items (you can easily get them in any Turkish jewellery in Istanbul or even in big German cities) or money. Please do not bring big items due to transportation difficulties. [Istanbul/Turkey Celebration] - [Niederrhein/Germany Celebration] - [Top of the Page] Niederrhein/Germany Celebration Date: 16.08.2002/ Friday/ Start: 16:00 Church Ceremony: The church ceremony will be celebrated as a catholic mass. The priest who will marry us is Father Benedict from Tanzania. It will take around 45 minutes followed by champagne reception in the church yard. After the reception, we will proceed in corso to Heuhotel, where the party takes place. Language: The church ceremony will be held in German and will partly be translated into English or Turkish. Place: The church ceremony takes place in Klosterkirche, Aldekerk (see map 1 - map 2). Party & Reception: The party reception starts around 18:00 with cool beer (typical from Niederrhein (Alt) and Cologne (Kölsch)) and other drinks together with snacks. The party will take place in Heuhotel, typical Niederrheinish farming house located within fields. Easiest way to get there is to follow the corso
(see the map). Those who don’t have a car can join other guests with car.
The place is half-open air. No problems in case of rainy weather.
